A sudden plan to Kolkata Aquatica with friends
On 24th March 2019 I went to Bandel, Westbengal to take assessment on Animator for Utkarsh Bangla Project. And I was supposed to return the same day and join office. But my ticket for Gour express from Sealdah to Malda wasn't confirmed. I had no intention to travel in general boggy so I booked a room in Oriental Home at Sealdah to spend the night and return to Malda by next morning in Kanchenjunga Exp. That night one of my friends from Kolkata asked me to go to Kolkata Aquatica with them as they have planed it next day. I just thought for once about "My office next day", "Students who wanted to meet for admission in my Tutorial Center", "My client's web design project which has deadline" and "My employees who are waiting for my next instruction" etc and decided let’s forget about work and take a leave for the day.
I and my friends were supposed to meet at Bidhannagar station at 10:30 AM on 25th Monday. I was on time at Bidhannagar station where my friend reached after 1.5h. Then we booked a Auto from outside of the station for 200 rupees that took us to Aquatica. On Monday the entry fee was 800 rupees each but if your height is below 4’6” then you will get 50% off. The offer is mainly for children. We had to deposit 1000 rupees for clothes for 4 person and 2 lockers, the amount was refundable. At the entry gate one guard checked our bags. I purchased one packet digestive biscuit for rupees 20 when I was at Bidhannagar station and that biscuit was in my bag. The guard told me to eat the biscuit. and also he shook our water bottle to check whether it is only water. I told the guard to eat the biscuit but he refused my offer. Finding no other way I had to eat 4 biscuits and my friends eat some of them. Then we entered and went to the counter where we had to collect the dresses and locker keys. We had a little confusion over dress as my friends already brought dresses from home to avoid extra fees. But according to my knowledge we can't use rides in the other dresses except those that given by the Aquatica authority. My friends thought they will charge us extra for the cloths and lockers but they didn't. For the dresses and lockers I had deposited 1000 INR that was 100% refundable.
I was quite impressed by the locker system in Kolkata Aquatica because the lockers were all digital. There was no keys. To open the lock you need to touch your locker with your key and it will open automatically. As two of my friends were girls so they took longer than expected in the changing room!
I was waiting along with other men whose companions were women! A few hours later then girls come out then we went to enjoy the first baby pool. After that we went to enjoy wave pool where beautiful ladies were dancing on top of the stage. The ladies were really beautiful and stylish! I was watching the performance of the celebrities live.
Then we had our lunch. I ordered non-veg normal fish meal where my friends ordered chicken biriyani and chicken fried rice. Each of us also received welcome drink worth rupees 70 for free.
After lunch I told my friends that we can't go to pool for an hour. But who listens whom! Then went to pool right after the lunch. I was making small vlog and taking the pictures of my friends.
There was a very interesting ride "The PENDULUM". It is a unique water slide where riders move up and down like a pendulum in a wide V shaped slide before coming to a gradual halt. It is the high speed ride & its an approx 40 feet vertical free-fall drop into a 75-degree slide of speed and exhilaration!
I thought it will be fun to use the ride. It had some restrictions like if you are 80 kilo or up then you can't use the ride. I was only 66 kilos. I went to the ride. I sat on a round tube and when the man pushed me, in a second I realized I have made the biggest mistake in my life. I was falling from so high like falling from sky with my momentum. I truly realized what gravitational force actually means. In seconds I came down and again up because of my momentum. But the falling from high in a seconds was like the time has stopped around me. I felt I was falling from long time. I was thinking when this will end or it will be the end of my life!
It was huge force and my neck shook heavily and after three days also I have the neck muscle pain. There was more daring rides also but after the first dangerous ride my fear went away so that the other dangerous rides were not hard for me.
I mostly enjoyed swimming in the lazy river
