My advice to my child - Why its important to study?
I know as a child you may dislike studying like I used to do. You may not understand the importance of studying at an early age but it is the only thing that will stay with you for a lifetime. Education will differentiate you with others. The more you educate yourself the more you will find less competition. You should know that lots of people complete the 10th standard. The Tenth standard is the very basic level of education. Like in your favourite game when you complete your first level it's like that. You will know that fewer people start their journey to the next level, that is 10+2. For example if 100 students take the 10th standard exam then only 80 students will start their journey for 10+2. I believe you want to be counted in 80 students because you don't like losing. After tenth standard you will see the stream of education will be divided into a few parts Science, Arts, Commerce and polytechnic. You should know which stream can take you where.
Like in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone movie when Harry reached Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and a magical Sorting Hat assigns the first-year students to four Houses - Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw - that best suit their personalities. Ron tells Harry about Slytherin's reputation of housing dark wizards. Harry rejects the Hat's offer of Slytherin, which Draco joins, and is sorted into Gryffindor with Ron and Hermione.
Like that you need to find out your super power and choose your stream very carefully.
My father wanted me to choose the Arts stream. But I chose science completely by myself. It was my decision. Because I wanted to be a software engineer in the future. I knew if I study science then only I can study engineering. That's why I planned my career at an early stage. If you want to know more about it in detail then read my financial freedom articles.
Science is a very hard stream considering among other streams. If you think you will go with science then you have to sacrifice your fun time.
Do you like playing cricket like your father used to do? Or do you spend more time practicing karate like your father? Or you are too much into your smartphone with social media and video games? Or you are in love with some special girl in your life?
Whatever it is, always remember your father was into all these things before 10th standard. And I don't want to disappoint you by telling the actual truth of life at this age. But remember this, if you have chosen your path of education that leads to a successful career then focus on it. And you will never be disappointed in life.
Many people will come into your life for short periods of time but don't let them distract you or confuse you. You study and do more research on career related information. Ask people who are already successful in their life and career, not take advice from them who are not successful in career or life. Have you read the book "The richest man in Babylon"? If not then read it or listen to it for free from youTube. Implement the advice in your life.
I couldn't study software engineering but I studied computer application. I was a very good student in Malda college. After BCA I decided not to continue studying for MCA.
I started studying by myself. I started studying about the Internet, Website design, development, web hosting, Digital marketing, content writing, freelancing, blogging, affiliate marketing, online payment gateways, stock market, bitcoin, self publishing and many more.
My decision was not wrong. It helped me in my career. In my time these skills are most wanted in IT companies. Till now I mostly worked in skill sectors as a soft skills trainer, IT trainer, Web design Trainer.
My college education ended in 2017 but my real education started after that. Till now every day I keep learning new things. Learning gives you confidence. It differentiates you from others. It makes you special and popular. It makes you successful and satisfied.
Note: Study to understand, apply and implement. Don't study for numbers.
